Frequently asked questions

Are the gowns authentic?

Yes. Every piece is an authentic designer gown listed by a vetted partner boutique, who certifies it is a genuine sample or past-season piece they have the right to sell.

Are the dresses new or used?

They are new boutique samples or past-season stock — never rented or worn by a consumer. Each listing includes an honest inspection note describing the exact condition, including any minor sample handling.

What does “one of one” mean?

Every gown in the Archive is a single garment. There is only ever one. When it sells, it is archived and cannot be repurchased or replaced.

Why is it so much less than retail?

These are boutique samples and past-season pieces. The craftsmanship is identical to full retail — they simply aren’t this season’s line, so they’re offered at an Archive price beside their original retail.

Can I return a gown?

All Archive pieces are final sale. Because each is one of one, we cannot offer returns or exchanges. Please review the measurements, size, and inspection notes carefully, and reach out with any questions before you buy.

Who ships my order?

The partner boutique that holds the piece ships it directly to you, with tracking. If your order includes pieces from more than one boutique, each ships separately and you’ll see each shipment’s status on your order page.

Do I need an account to buy?

No — you can check out as a guest (we’ll just verify your email). Creating an account lets you save your details and see your order history.

How do I sell with the Archive?

If you’re a boutique, apply through our “Sell with us” page. You’ll provide your business details and resale certificate and sign our consignment agreement; we review every application personally.
